KITTIE Drummer: New Album 'Sounds Absolutely Amazing'
October 11, 2006KITTIE drummer Mercedes Lander has issued the following update:
"As you all may have guessed we are back from [the recording studio in] New Jersey and our new album is all finished. I must say that it sounds absolutely amazing and I think you all will be as pleased as we are with the finished album. I can't wait for you all to hear it, but that won't happen until at least March of 2007. Also be on the lookout for new updated on the track listing and album title in the near future. We will be putting up some full songs on our MySpace page hopefully soon so you guys can have a taste of whats to come with the new album. On top of that, Morgan [Lander, guitar/vocals] and I have been working with a very talented artist and are in the process of putting the finishing touches on some killer album artwork, so be on the look out for a preview of that as well.
"Thank you guys so much for all the amazing feedback we have been getting from the demo clips we put up a while back. Those songs will be on the new album, so dont fret."
KITTIE's new CD was produced by Jack Ponti, who has previously worked with BON JOVI, SKID ROW, and ALICE COOPER. Songtitles set to appear on the new album include "Never Again", "Funeral For Yesterday", "The Change", "Breathe", "Last Goodbye", "Slow Motion" and "Flowers of Flesh and Blood". The band recently finished mixing the effort with producer Kevin Shirley (IRON MAIDEN, DREAM THEATER).
KITTIE's downloadable EP, entitled "Never Again", was released in February through Rock Ridge Music. iTunes is offering an exclusive four-track version of the EP, which includes the bonus track "Everything That Could Have Been".
KITTIE has sold more than a million records since the release of its debut, "Spit", in 2000. That album was followed by 2001's "Oracle" and 2004's "Until the End", with several EPs in between.
